Our place – Redevelopment of Parnell Square
Abbey Church has a very prominent position at the north east corner of Parnell Square.
As a church congregation we are seeking the significance of our place in the square particularly as major exciting plans are moving forward to increase the footfall and ambiance of the area and including moving the central library as our close neighbours.
We believe that our church building, set where it is, holds the opportunity for people to be a living community in this area and are discussing and exploring how a small group as we are, can reach out to be an important part of this square.
Our church is already home to people from all over the world, of students, families, city dwellers, visitors and tourists ,alongside those of us who have lived in Dublin for many years
If you would like to be a part of what we are doing and what we hope to do, please contact us.
If you are interested in the upkeep of the actual building and of the spire, please do not hesitate to contact us. We believe the church is not just a building, but we are charged with the beauty of this heritage building and we seek to be diligent in its upkeep and use its prominence to lead people to worship and to glorify God through it. the costs of this are very burdensome for us as a small community, we have been appreciative of grants and gifts but still need to raise funds for our Spire restoration.
Abbey seeks to be a blessing to the city and we would love for you to join us in our vision.
