Abbey Presbyterian Church, is an iconic building at the corner of Parnell Square, Discover the hidden nature within this building with our ‘ Nature Eye-Spy Treasure Hunt’. Abbey Church remains a lively, welcoming and worshipping community of people and a small exhibition will explain the living aspect of our heritage All are welcome to our worship service on August 27th at 11am focusing on the theme of ‘Water’
Words on the Street – A European Literature Trail
taking place in 6 venues around Parnell Square on Thursday 7thSeptember
Join us for a literary evening, listening to well known personalities such as Sharon Ní Bheoláin, Bryan Murray, Rick O’Shea, Johnny Ward and Katherine Lynch read from translated works of European literature. We’ll also be joined by UK author Kit de Waal, who will read from her novel My Name is Leon.
Venues are:
Abbey Presbyterian Church, Belvedere College, Belvedere School, the James Joyce Centre, Dublin Writers Museum and Poetry Ireland
The first reading is at 6.30pm with readings every half hour after, the final one at 9pm.
This event is in partnership with Alliance Francaise, Austrian Embassy, British Council, Instituto Cervantes Dublin, Embassy of Denmark, Goethe Institut, Instituto Italiano di Cultura, Maltese Embassy, Polish Embassy, Romanian Embassy and Romanian Cultural Institute.

at 7.30pm. Guest speaker will be Dr. Conrad
Mbewe from Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka, Zambia and
music will be provided by New Irish Arts.
Conrad Mbewe has served as pastor of Kabwata
Baptist Church since 1987 and as principal of the Lusaka
Ministerial College. He holds an MA in Pastoral Theology
and a PhD in Missions. Among other roles Dr. Mbewe is
the chancellor of the African Christian University in Lusaka
and a board member of Covenant College in the eastern
province of Zambia. He is also the editor of a theological journal called
Reformation Zambia which is published three times a year. Dr. Mbewe has
been a speaker at the Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention.
